Romulo Ruiz Injured in Pedestrian Accident Accident on Highland Avenue in National City
National City, California (October 10, 2019) – The authorities have disclosed the identity of a US Postal employee who was struck and injured by a car as he worked at the back of the postal truck on September 12 in National City.
According to a local news source, the accident happened in the 2900 block of Highland Avenue.
A man is reported to have been driving his car on the roadway when he struck the employee, identified only as Romulo Ruiz, who was retrieving mail from the truck.
US Postal Employee Struck and Hurt by Car in National City
Ruiz was pinned underneath the truck after being struck by the car. He was extricated and was transported to UC San Diego Medical Center where he underwent surgery.
No further information was provided.
An investigation into the accident was yet to be concluded.
