Mireya Orta Arrested For Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash at Rancho San Antonio in Cupertino

Cupertino, California (October 4, 2019) – Mireya Orta, 50, of Santa Clara, was arrested after a hit-and-run accident that killed one pedestrian and injured another Tuesday afternoon in the area of Cupertino.

The accident was reported at about 12:52 p.m. Tuesday, October 2 at Rancho San Antonio County Park.

Authorities said two pedestrians were walking in the area when for undermined reasons, they were hit by an Audi A5 driven by Orta.

One victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene and released. The other pedestrian was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead.

Orta did not stop to render aid to the victims and fled the scene.

Orta was arrested and booked into jail in San Jose on Tuesday night.
