Judson Bergman Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 101 in San Francisco
Judson Bergman ID’d as 1 of 4 Victims Killed in San Francisco Car Accident on Highway 101 near Paul Avenue

San Francisco, California (October 3, 2019) – Judson Bergman, 62, of Barrington, Illinois, has been identified as one of the four people who were killed early Thursday morning in a traffic accident involving a wrong-way driver in San Francisco.
The fatal accident happened at about 12:30 a.m. on Highway 101 near Paul Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 34-year-old Hillsborough woman was driving a Volkswagen southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 when her vehicle collided head-on with a taxi carrying two passengers.
Bergman, who was one of the passengers in the taxi, was ejected from the vehicle upon the impact.
Bergman and the other passenger were killed in the wreck. Both drivers also died in the crash.
All lanes of northbound U.S. 101 were shut down for nearly seven hours following the crash. As of 7:00 a.m., the roads were reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
