Santiago Soto Killed in Bakersfield Motorcycle Accident on Wilson Road
Santiago Soto ID’d as 1 of 2 Victims Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Wilson Road near South Real Road
Bakersfield, California (October 3, 2019) – Santiago Soto, 24, has been identified as one of the two victims who were killed Wednesday night in a motorcycle accident in Southwest Bakersfield.
The fatal crash took place at about 8:10 p.m.Wednesday, October 2 on Wilson Road, just west of South Real Road.
According to police, a silver sedan was trying to make a left turn when its driver allegedly failed to yield to a motorcycle traveling eastbound on Wilson Road, leading to the crash.
Soto, who was the driver of the motorcycle, was taken to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. His female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the sedan stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
Police said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the crash.
The accident caused a closure of Wilson Road between South Real and Wible roads for approximately two to three hours as the scene was examined and cleared.
The Bakersfield police are investigating the crash.
