Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Santa Cruz Crash on Highway 9 near Encinal Street

Santa Cruz, California (September 28, 2019) – A man was injured in a bicycle collision with a vehicle on Tuesday night in Santa Cruz.

According to the authorities, the incident happened just after 8 p.m. September 27, on Highway 9 near Encinal Street.

Authorities said a man riding a bicycle was hit by a passing Subaru Forester on Highway 9.

The rider was taken to Santa Clara County trauma center for treatment of major injuries.

The driver of the Subaru stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The crash is under investigation.
