1 Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 680 in Walnut Creek
1 Dies in Fatal Walnut Creek Car Accident on Interstate 680 near Treat Boulevard Off-Ramp
Walnut Creek, California (September 27, 2019) – One person was killed early Friday morning in a traffic accident in Walnut Creek, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash happened at about 2:00 a.m. on southbound Interstate 680 near the Treat Boulevard exit.
CHP said a dump truck and a Sentra collided on southbound Interstate 680. The Sentra flipped onto its roof after the impact.
Fatal Crash on Interstate 680 in Walnut Creek
One person died in the crash. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
Tow trucks were dispatched to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles.
The crash caused the closure of lanes of southbound Interstate 680. As of 4:30 a.m., all lanes were reopened.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
