Man Critically Hurt in Sun Valley Pedestrian Crash on Golden State (5) Freeway
Sun Valley, California (September 23, 2019) – A man was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle Sunday night in Sun Valley, according to officials’ report.
The accident was reported at around 9:29 p.m. September 22, on the northbound Golden State Freeway at Lankershim Boulevard.
The California Highway Patrol said a black SUV hit a man while he was walking across lanes from the right shoulder to the center median.
Man Struck and Seriously Injured by Vehicle on Golden State Freeway
The male party sustained major injuries in the accident. His name and current condition remained unknown.
The CHP said it is possible the man was attempting to get to a homeless encampment near the freeway.
No other details were immediately provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
