Deputy Hurt in Poway DUI Accident at Poway Road and Iola Way
Poway, California (September 22, 2019) – A deputy was injured in a collision involving a suspected DUI driver early Saturday morning in Poway.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. September 21, at Poway Road and Iola Way.
The deputy was sitting in a patrol vehicle near the intersection when he was hit by a passing driver. Another vehicle that had been pulled over by the deputy was also hit by the suspect.
The involved driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The deputy was treated for minor injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
