Elderly Woman Hit, Critically Hurt by Vehicle on University Avenue in City Heights

City Heights, California (September 21, 2019) – A woman was hospitalized with major injuries following an auto-pedestrian collision that occurred on Friday morning in City Heights, according to San Diego police.

The crash happened at around 7:30 a.m. September 20, in the 4800 block of University Avenue.

Police said a 77-year-old woman was trying to walk across University Avenue when she was hit by a westbound 2015 Lexus.

Woman Critically Hurt in City Heights Pedestrian Crash

The woman sustained a brain bleed and dislocated pelvis. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Authorities said the unidentified victim’s injuries were life-threatening.

Meanwhile, the cause of the accident remained under investigation.
