Chatsworth, California (September 20, 2019) – The man who was struck and killed by an Amtrak train on Wednesday night in Chatsworth has been identified as Robert Obrikat, 43, of Granada Hills, according to the coroner’s office.

The crash took place at about 8:10 p.m. September 18, in the 21300 block of Devonshire Street, just north of the Chatsworth Station.

Authorities said Obrikat was on the tracks for unknown reasons when he was hit by Amtrak Coast Starlight Train 11 that was heading to Los Angeles from Seattle.

Obrikat was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 151 passengers or crew members on board the train were not injured in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
