Person Killed and Another Injured in Calistoga Crash at Tubbs Lane and Highway 128

Calistoga, California (September 12, 2019) – Authorities are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Wednesday night in Calistoga.
The deadly collision happened at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, at Tubbs Lane and Highway 128.
As per the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a van driver crashed into a tender water truck at the Calistoga junction. A witness driving behind the van over a hill told officials, the van driver swerved across the road for unknown reasons and crashed into the truck.
The impact caused the minivan to burst into flames and efforts to save the van driver were futile.
The truck flipped over and its water tank was partially detached following the crash.
Fiery Fatal Crash at Tubbs Lane and Highway 128
Responding firefighters declared the van driver dead at the crash site. The name of the deceased was not immediately released awaiting notification of next of kin.
A second party involved in the crash was hospitalized with injuries of unknown degree.
It was not immediately clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
An investigation is underway.
