Point Loma, California (September 8, 2019) – A bicycle rider was hospitalized with major injuries after being involved in a hit-and-run collision on Friday night in the Point Loma Heights neighborhood, according to San Diego police.

The crash happened at around 10:15 p.m. September 6, on Nimitz Boulevard near Voltaire Street.

Police said a 64-year-old man was riding a bike northbound in the bike lane on Nimitz Boulevard when a northbound vehicle struck him.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render aid.

Rider Injured in Point Loma Bicycle Crash

The victim was transported to a hospital with major, life-threatening injuries.

Police said the suspected hit-and-run driver was operating a white Nissan Versa or similar make and model.

The San Diego police are investigating the incident.
