Woman Killed in El Cajon Pedestrian Accident on North Johnson Avenue
El Cajon, California (September 5, 2019) – A woman was hit and killed by a truck in El Cajon on Thursday morning, according to police.
The crash took place just after 5:35 a.m., on North Johnson Avenue just north of Fletcher Parkway.
Police said a 45-year-old woman was trying to cross the street eastbound and outside a crosswalk when she was hit by a 2019 Ford pickup truck traveling northbound on North Johnson Avenue.
Woman Killed in El Cajon Pedestrian Crash
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene following the wreck. The name of the victim has not yet been released to this time.
The crash resulted in the closure of Johnson Avenue between Vernon Way and Fesler Street for several hours while police conducted the investigation.
The cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation.
