Sacramento, California (August 28, 2019) – A motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a traffic collision in the area of Sacramento on Tuesday afternoon.

The motorcycle crash happened at about 5:17 p.m. August 27, in the area of Howe Avenue and Spanos Court, near the Campus Commons Golf Course.

A California Highway Patrol report indicated that a motorcycle collided with a vehicle of unspecified built at the intersection for an unknown reason.

Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Motorcycle Accident in Sacramento

Paramedics along with the Sacramento Fire Department officials arrived at the scene shortly after the accident and attended to the rider who was found lying on the right-hand shoulder near the sidewalk as a result of the crash.

The patient was then rushed to a nearby hospital to be treated for severe injuries. The identity and current condition of the wounded party have not yet been released to this time.

It was not mentioned whether or not the driver of the involved vehicle stopped after the crash and cooperated with authorities.

The investigation is underway.

When this category of accident happens, the driver of the car may be held accountable for the crash. However, it is good to note that the motorcyclist may also be partly to blame if, for example, they were speeding or riding in the wrong lane.

Speeding – Driving at high speeds reduces the rider’s ability to slow or stop safely in case of a hazard, or slowed or stopped traffic. The rider ends up crashing into other cars or loses control of the motorcycle after applying emergency brakes.
