Santa Monica, California (August 16, 2019) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed in a traffic collision in Santa Monica early Saturday morning has been identified as 38-year-old Morris Dixon III.

The fatal collision was reported at approximately 2:05 a.m. August 3, on Pacific Coast Highway at or near Entrada Drive.

As per the report, Dixon III was struck by a vehicle of unspecified built while crossing Pacific Coast Highway for unknown reasons.

Dixon sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash. He was transported to a local trauma center, where he was tragically pronounced dead a short while later.

It was not clear whether or not the driver of the involved vehicle stopped after the crash and cooperated with the officials.

Meanwhile, the Santa Monica Police Department is investigating the cause of the collision.
