Man Injured in Galt Hot Air Balloon Accident near Orr Road
Galt, California (August 11, 2019) – One person was injured when a hot air balloon crash-landed during a festival in Galt on Saturday morning, according to the authorities.
The incident took place at around 8:40 a.m. August 10, at the Galt Balloon Festival near Orr Road.
Authorities said one hot air balloon started to deflate on its own and as the pilot tried to reflate it, the balloon began to catch fire. The balloon then crash-landed in a nearby cornfield.
The man who was the balloon’s pilot was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The FAA and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the accident.
