San Andreas, California (August 7, 2019) – One person was severely hurt after a traffic crash Tuesday afternoon in the area of San Andreas, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.

The crash happened at around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, at Highway 49 and Highway 12.

As per the report, a sedan and an SUV crashed for reasons still under investigation.

Emergency crews along with paramedics responded to the scene and attended to one person who suffered severe injuries as a result of the crash. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The name of the patient and their current condition were not immediately known.

Authorities closed the intersection of Highway 49 and Highway 12 temporarily following the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
