Junction City, California (August 3, 2019) – Two people were injured, at least one seriously, after a two-car accident in Junction City Friday morning, according to a local news source.

The crash, which was reported shortly before 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, happened on Highway 299 near Power House Road and the Trinity River and involved two vehicles.

The California Highway Patrol said a black Toyota Corolla collided with a possibly Ford F-250 pickup truck on Highway 299 for an undetermined reason.

As a result of the collision, the Corolla flipped onto its wheels on the right-hand shoulder while the other car rolled over and went upside down 50 to 75 feet underwater in the river.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found a man bleeding from the head. A woman who was inside the Corolla complained of shoulder pain.

The responding paramedics then treated both patients. One of them was then rushed to a hospital with major injuries. Their names and conditions were not immediately disclosed.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
