Man Dies in Concord Motorcycle Accident near Concord Boulevard and Lodato Way
Concord, California (July 21, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday morning in a traffic accident in Concord, according to authorities.
The tragic crash was reported at about 12:24 a.m. near Concord Boulevard and Lodato Way.
Authorities said a man was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Concord Boulevard when he tried to pass a Toyota Prius that was also heading eastbound ahead of him.
For an unknown reason, the motorcyclist struck the rear of the Prius. The force of the impact ejected the rider from his bike and landed in the westbound lane of Concord Boulevard, where he was hit by a dark-colored pickup truck that was heading westbound on Concord Boulevard.
The driver of the truck did not stop and continued traveling westbound.
The motorcyclist, who has not been identified pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
The driver of the Prius stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Concord Boulevard between Ayers and Kirker Pass roads was shut down for around three hours as police investigated the crash.
Police are still looking for the driver of the truck who fled the scene.
