Man, 4 Women Injured in Alhambra Car Accident on Garfield Avenue and Valley Boulevard

Alhambra, California (July 13, 2019) – Five people were injured Wednesday afternoon after a police chase ended in a traffic accident in Alhambra, according to authorities.
The crash took place at about 1:27 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 on Garfield Avenue and Valley Boulevard.
Authorities said an Alhambra officer was traveling northbound on Garfield Avenue when he saw a sedan that was stolen. The officer then made a U-turn and followed the car.
The driver of the sedan began driving away. The officer also noticed a van fleeing. The sedan struck a pickup while the van collided with a car.
Multi-Car Accident in Alhambra, July 10
According to the authorities, two occupants of the pickup, a man and a woman, were injured in the crash. Three women in the car that was struck by the van were also injured.
Three women were transported to a hospital. The names and their conditions at this time were not disclosed.
Jose Cabrera, 27, of El Monte and Jacqueline Chavez, 25, of El Monte, were arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto.
The crash remains under investigation.
