Van Nuys, California (January 15, 2021) – Two people suffered major injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 405 in Van Nuys Friday morning, CHP officials said.

The collision happened at about 7:19 a.m. on the southbound 405 Freeway, just north of Burbank Boulevard, and involved a black Toyota Tundra pickup and a 26-ft long Box Truck.

Officers from the fire department responded to the scene and shut down all lanes as they extricated a person trapped in one of the vehicles.

Reportedly, a driver and a passenger were injured in the crash.

No additional details regarding the crash were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
