Virgil McLaughlin Jr. Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Tish Tang Road near Airport Road in Hoopa
Hoopa, California (May 19, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident in Hoopa on Sunday evening, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The fatal auto-pedestrian accident happened at about 7:45 p.m. May 16, on Tish Tang Road near Airport Road.
29-year-old Virgil McLaughlin Jr., of Hoopa, was walking in an unknown direction on Tish Tang Road, when he was hit by a southbound vehicle driven by Jerome Pollara.
Emergency crew arrived at the scene and performed CPR on the pedestrian.
Sadly, McLaughlin succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident, according to the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office.
Impairment on the part of the motorist was not considered to be a factor in the collision.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
