1 Sustains Major Injuries in Pittsburg Collision on Highway 4 near Railroad Avenue On-Ramp

Pittsburg, California (May 1, 2021) – One person was hospitalized after a traffic collision that happened Friday afternoon in Pittsburg, the California Highway Patrol reported.
CHP said two cars collided at about 5:46 p.m. on westbound Highway 4, near the Railroad Avenue on-ramp.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and found a blue Chrysler 300 with major front-end damage and a GMC Denali with major rear-end damage.
Authorities did not immediately establish what transpired leading to the crash.
The report said the crash resulted in major injuries. One of the drivers was bleeding from the neck.
Paramedics transported one of the drivers to Kaiser Permanente Antioch Medical Center. The condition of the patient was not mentioned.
Tow trucks were requested to remove both vehicles from the scene.
An investigation is underway.
