Omar Ortiz ID’d as Man Killed in Palmdale Crash at Avenue M and 20th Street East
Palmdale, California (September 26, 2019) – Authorities have identified the man who died in a traffic accident that happened last week Thursday morning at an intersection in Palmdale as Omar Dominguez Ortiz, 40 of San Bernardino.
The deadly crash, which was reported at about 11:50 a.m. Thursday, September 19, occurred at the intersection of Avenue M and 20th Street East.
According to a local news report, Ortiz was driving a Honda Fit eastbound on the road when for an unknown reason, he slammed into the side of a Waste Management truck that was making a left turn from 20th Street east onto Avenue M.
Ortiz was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital. The name and condition of the patient at this time were not immediately disclosed.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
