Monica Sandoval Identified as Person Hospitalized after Fatal Azusa Car Accident on 210 Freeway near Azusa Avenue

Azusa, California (August 21, 2020) – Monica Sandoval, 33, of Rancho Cucamonga, has been identified as the victim who was injured in a fiery car crash that killed a 24-year-old woman, also from Rancho Cucamonga, on Friday morning in Azusa, authorities said.
As per the CHP log, the crash transpired at about 2:15 a.m. on Foothill (210) Freeway near Azusa Avenue.
A 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK250, driven by the 24-year-old woman, veered off the side of the eastbound 210 Freeway, rolled down an embankment, hit a tree and caught fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The 24-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sandoval sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Sandoval was a passenger in the Mercedes-Benz.
