Lovisa Svallingson ID’d as Woman Killed in San Francisco Crash at Polk and Hayes Streets

San Francisco, California (May 19, 2021) – Lovisa Svallingson, 29, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a Tuesday evening crash involving a hit-and-run driver in San Francisco, according to the San Francisco medical examiner’s office.
The wreck happened at about 7:00 p.m. May 18, in the area of Polk and Hayes streets.
Authorities said a dark blue Chevrolet Avalanche truck traveling southbound on Polk Street failed to stop for the posted stop sign and collided with a white Audi sedan that was traveling west on Hayes Street.
The truck then struck Svallingson and another man who were on foot.

Svallingson died at the scene of the accident.
The 30-year-old man who was also hit by the truck was taken to Zuckerberg-San Francisco General Hospital with critical injuries.
Two of the four occupants of the Audi were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Chevy reportedly fled the scene after the accident and has not been located.
The incident remains under investigation.
