El Cerrito, California (April 22, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured last week on Tuesday in a hit-and-run accident in El Cerrito, according to a local news source.

The major injury crash took place on 58th Street near Trojan Avenue on Tuesday, April 13.

As per the report, Dustin Deason, 45, of La Mesa, was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound in the left lane when a white car traveling northbound drifted into his path.

The motorcycle was eventually hit by the car.

Deason sustained severe injuries to his foot and was transported to a hospital where he underwent surgery.

On Wednesday morning, Deason’s foot developed complications and forced surgeons to amputate his leg at the calf.

The involved driver did not stop and fled the scene. There was no description of the suspect.

Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
